WORKSHOP: UNA MIRADA AL FUTURO DE LA CIENCIA POLAR ESPAÑOLA. MAY 15, 2024
As part of the Spanish Polar Symposium (Salamanca), a workshop will be held on May 15th (9:00-11:30) organized by APECS Spain and Polar-CSIC under the title “A Glimpse into the Future of Spanish Polar Science.”
This activity is divided into three types of activities:
Presentation of the associations APECS Spain and Polar-CSIC.
Session of short presentations by young researchers in which, through a presentation, they briefly explain what they research, discuss three current concerns (related to the study topic or to their research career), and what could help them progress and address such concerns. This space will also allow for promotion of the participation of these young researchers during the symposium (if any) and in which session they will participate. Additionally, they will be encouraged to create short videos (maximum 2 minutes) about their daily lives or research.
Discussion and mentoring session aiming to facilitate an active discussion among participants. A mixed roundtable (in terms of theme and generation) will be held to address all emerging issues.
Pre-registration for the workshop will be done together with the symposium pre-registration form. To actively participate in the workshop, follow the instructions associated with the workshop form.

Early Career Workshop
Last May 13, the first workshop for young researchers organized by the interdisciplinary platform POLARCSIC took place. A total of 34 pre- and post-doctoral students had the opportunity to present the advances in their research, within the wide range of polar disciplines covered by the platform. The workshop not only brought us closer to knowing the research of the different participants, but also allowed our young researchers to express their concerns and make the suggestions and requests they need.
